Emergency Fund
Emergency Fund is a non-profit, Chicago-based initiative which "provides immediate financial assistance to help Chicago area low-income individuals and families through a crisis or transition."
By creating a network of partner agencies throughout the city, Emergency Fund is made available to a larger audience of those in need.
The North Lawndale Employment Network is proud to be one such partner, and is able to provide immediate financial resources for low-income neighbors, to help them overcome crisis situations.
Emergency Fund assistance is, for the most part, distributed to prevent homelessness for families, but funds are flexible enough to cover a variety of needs.
As the agency of last resort for many low-income individuals and families faced with a crisis, the Emergency Fund provides financial assistance quickly and without red tape, removing the economic barriers faced by individuals who are struggling to achieve economic self-sufficiency.

Additionally, if you live in Chicago but are unable to visit the Resource Center directly, and require assistance, dial 3-1-1 and ask for "Short-Term Help" to be screened for the Emergency Fund's financial assistance.
