Success Stories: Eric Harris
Eric Harris enrolled in the U-Turn Permitted program only half-heartedly, but responded immediately to the support and encouragement of the staff and his fellow classmates. He began helping out at the Resource Center, maintained his relationship with his children, and began to attend church regularly. He secured a temporary position through the Resource Center, which provided him the inspiration to stay focused on his career goals. He then secured an internship with a pedorthic/orthopedic shoe repair clinic in Niles, IL (his previous career). He now has his old job back (which he had lost) and loves it.
Eric Harris was one of the first individuals to excel at the Resource Center. Eric is extremely motivated and determined to make a difference in his life and the lives of others. He has been in the community spreading the word about the wonderful staff and variety of services that we provide here at NLEN. Eric is one of the most exceptional people that we have met. Through all the barriers Eric has faced, he has remained focused and encouraged by those who have given him a second chance. Eric has made a U-Turn in his life, and is now willing to share his story and life experiences with the world.
