Resource Center - interior

Resource CenterOur neighborhood-based, employment-focused Resource Center is the cornerstone of NLEN's community employment strategy. Through the Resource Center, residents are provided with tools and information that allow them to conduct a comprehensive employment search using Internet access, fax and photo-copy machines, and voicemail boxes.

Resource Center users have access to assistance and guidance in every stage of their job search process. Financial Literacy and basic computer and resume workshops supplement and support center activities.

Registered Resource Center clients benefit from the support and guidance of a Workforce Development Coach who provides assistance in pre-employment preparation, employment acquisition, job retention, and career advancement.

Residents are also encouraged to inquire about a variey of programs of which NLEN is a part, including Community Voice Mail, Emergency Fund, Real Benefits, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). NLEN staff are also prepared to give referrals, putting residents in contact with other non-profit agencies in the Chicagoland area.

We encourage everyone to come and visit the Resource Center; all are welcome - drop by to grab a cup of coffee anytime!
