We encourage everyone to come and visit our updated Resource Center and computer lab for your employment and technology needs. All are welcome—drop by and grab a cup of coffee anytime!
Our employment-focused Resource Center is the cornerstone of NLEN’s community employment strategy. At our Resource Center, you have access to tools and information that allows you to conduct a comprehensive job search: free Wi-Fi, a state of the art computer lab, fax and photocopy machines, and Community Voice Mail. All these services are offered to you free of charge.
Resource Center users can get assistance and guidance in every stage of their job-search process. Be sure to check our calendar for upcoming workshops on financial literacy, resume development, interviewing skills, online job applications, online banking and networking to supplement your self-directed job search.
Job Readiness graduates benefit from the support and guidance of a Workforce Development Coach who assists with pre-employment preparation, job acquisition and retention, and career advancement. Financial Coaches can help you plan for the future and reach your financial goals through our individualized financial coaching, credit, and asset-building program.
The Resource Center also offers assistance in enrolling in public benefits programs such as: CEDA Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Coverage, and more. If you are in need of services outside of our core program offerings, our knowledgeable staff can also provide referrals to other agencies in the greater Chicago area.
