U-Turn Permitted Express is a one-week job readiness program designed to cater to the needs of community members who do not have a criminal background and are actively seeking work. This class is an accelerated track offering critical job-seeking skills and resources. U-Turn Permitted Express participants will learn to:

  • Create or update a professional resume
  • Develop and maintain job leads
  • Successfully interview with proven methods
  • Search for jobs online
  • Grow and utilize your professional network
  • Perfect a personal pitch
  • Budget money and improve your credit score

To learn more, attend one of our orientation sessions, held every Monday 9:45 am at 3726 W Flournoy (view a schedule of upcoming orientations here). Bring your current State ID or Driver’s License and a pen and paper. At orientation you will get an overview of the U-Turn Permitted Express Program and other resources provided by NLEN. During the session, you will be asked to fill out a pre-registration form. Staff will be on site to answer any questions. You will be asked to return to NLEN an upcoming Monday or Tuesday for a job readiness assessment. If you qualify, the program begins Wednesday of the same week.

Graduates of U-Turn Express will receive:
