Sylvia is a VISTA volunteer for the North Lawndale Employment Network's U-Turn Permitted Program. Her duties are to develop and support recruitment strategy, to help develop and administer evaluation instruments to improve program operations, to assist the program's Workforce Training Specialist, and to help prepare re-entry clients for maintenance and advancement in employment.
Sylvia has over 20 years of work experience in the field of Customer Service, 16 of which were with the U.S. Postal Service.
She has a high school diploma, and is currently in the process of enrollment at Malcolm X College, where she hopes to receive an Associates Degree as a substance abuse counselor. Her heartfelt passion in life is helping others.
