Ron Tonn is the Chief Operating Officer of the North Lawndale Employment Network. For nearly thirty years he has conceived, developed and operated innovative transitional programs for former offenders with a primary focus on education, workplace acclimation, and employment acquisition.
As Associate Vice President of the Safer Foundation, Ron devised a unique adult education methodology based on peer teaching and spontaneous composition and has developed methodologies for case management, prevention and supportive housing. He has served on numerous task forces, advisory groups and boards, and has published articles on former-offender service issues in “Corrections Today”, “PRAGmatics”, and other publications.
Since joining NLEN in 2005, Ron has continued to advance unique approaches to programming for former offenders and other disaffected client groups. He holds a degree in Sociology/Psychology from Purdue University.
