Elaine Austin, a NLEN Workforce Development Coach, is a graduate of the U-Turn Permitted Program. She oversees, recruits, enrolls, and facilitates placement for Chicago Housing Authority residents who are 10/01/1999 clients. She also oversees the Resource Center - making sure that clients have their needs met and experience a friendly environment.
Prior coming to NLEN, Elaine worked both with homeless mothers with infants and with DCFS children with behavioral problems in the Grand Boulevard area.
She has also completed 40 hours of Domestic Violence Training from the Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women's Network. Additionally, she has completed an intensive training, through Deer (Re)habilitative Services Inc, entitled "Effectively Helping the Abuser". She also has an Associated Degree in Sociology.
