Maya Roberts is the AmeriCorps LISC volunteer with the North Lawndale Employment Network. She is the NLEN Resource Center Coordinator and wears a multitude of hats while at the office. She assists clients with tasks ranging from resume development and the faxing of resumes, while also spending a portion of her time helping with the U-Turn Permitted program. This allows her the opportunity to help the formerly incarcerated individuals enrolled in the program gain a new perspective.
Maya graduated from Central State University located in Wilberforce, OH in May 2009, where she received a B.A. in Communications-Broadcast Media. She is looking forward to a career in non-profit communications and is glad to have the opportunity to serve in this arena of the non-profit world.
